Did a keyword search on lefties a few hours ago. Lots of sites out there devoted to this subject. So much of it seems negative still.

I don’t know about you, but I am tired of hearing how I’m doomed to die shortly. I’m 59, and should have been killed a time or two due to my brainlessness as a kid. You know, running out into the street after a ball or a wayward puppy without looking left or right. Was mowed down by an idiot who took offense at bicyclists on the road. I mean, I guess that is what is was, since he was heard bragging about it in a local diner at the time. Yeah, by one of my co workers, who had to leave because he wanted to deck the guy.

I don’t work, anymore, where machinery designed for righties is the norm. I always adapted to them. Not necessarily by using my right hand. Generally, by finding an efficient way of using my left. Yeah, and that got me fired once. No one, not even my right handed co workers could figure that out. I was doing more work by my third week than another woman was able to do after six weeks. But I was fired. And she stayed. Yeah, that was discrimination.

Fortunately for me, the people I worked with discussed this among themselves and others so that my ex-boss’s wife got to know about it,and she got me hired back in a better department. Where my handedness wasn’t an issue, and I got to meet half the workers in the factory. Yeah, loved that job!

I’ll be posting links to some of these sites. Quite a few, I notice, are old sites. But the stuff is still relevant.
